Austin ISD Seeks Name Submissions for Blazier Relief School

Austin ISD is seeking suggestions for naming the new Blazier Relief School, which will open in August to provide relief to Blazier Elementary School. 

The New Blazier Relief School was approved as part of the 2017 Bond program. Blazier Elementary School will transition into a primary campus, housing kindergarten through second grade; and the new relief school will serve the intermediate level accommodating third through sixth grade. This is a unique arrangement in Austin ISD with a strong partnership between the two campuses. 

Austin ISD Encourages Eligible Families to Apply for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer Program

The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer program could provide Austin ISD families a one-time benefit for eligible families to buy food. Families could receive up to $285 per child, which can be used in the same way as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program food benefits to pay for groceries.

As a school year like no other comes to a close, we would like to acknowledge Pease Elementary for its service to thousands of children over the last 144 years in various capacities. Because of the hard work of our staff, students and families, we were able to implement a continuous learning plan that helped our families stay engaged through these extraordinary times.

We recognize the challenges of this school year were even greater for the Pease school community and wish to recognize them for their resilience and dedication.

Statement from the Board President- May 27, 2020

The board of Trustees voted 9-0 to hire JG Consulting with a target that we hire our next highly qualified Superintendent no later than August 31st in light of the news Dr. Cruz will be leaving for a position at the University of Texas.

Wednesday, May 27, 6 p.m. (Spanish with English interpretation) 

Thursday, May 28, 7 p.m. (English with Spanish interpretation)

Individuals interested in providing comments can participate in two ways. Please note that anyone wishing to participate must follow the instructions below prior to the event. Both sessions will be streamed live via AISD.TV and Facebook Live.
