Hill Elementary moves to Padrón Elementary for Feb. 6, 2023

Because the power is still not restored at Hill Elementary School, students and staff will be hosted by the Padrón Elementary community at their campus for a modified version of school.

Students will still receive breakfast and a hot lunch, they can ride their regular bus to get to Padrón, and they’ll be with their teachers and classmates. As much as possible based on staffing, students will have essentials like art, music and P.E., as well as recess and time outdoors.

Students will not miss out on any new learning if they do not attend school. Absences will be excused for any students whose families decide not to send children to school or whose families are unable to send them because of the storm's aftermath.

Padrón Elementary School will welcome Hill students on Monday. Padrón is at 2011 W Rundberg Ln, Austin, TX 78758. The contact phone number is 512-841-9600, ext: 54731.

Yes. Students who currently ride the bus will go to the same bus stop at their normal time to receive transportation to Padrón in the morning. Students who do not already ride the bus will need to be dropped off at Padrón.

For Hill students riding the bus home, the school release time will be at 2:30 p.m. instead of 3:10 p.m. to ensure buses are on time.

Families may drop off students at the front entrance of Padrón off Rundberg Lane.
Hill students will learn in spaces including the library, art and music rooms, science labs, and several classrooms.
Yes. Breakfast and a hot lunch will be served in the cafeteria.

We are able to provide a modified version of school. As much as possible based on staffing, students will have essentials like art, music and P.E., as well as recess and time outdoors. Your child will not miss out on any new learning if they do not attend school.

If you decide not to send your children to school or if you’re not able to send them, their absence will be an excused absence.

Hill will remain closed Monday and we will continue with the plan to co-locate at Padrón. Even if the power returns Sunday evening, we will not have sufficient time to ready the campus to safely receive students on Monday.
We intend to keep students with their classmates. However, we may have alternate staff supporting students. We are prepared for staff absences as some are working to recover from the storm.
If your child receives Special Education Services at Hill, those services will be as consistent as possible at Padrón.
Yes. There will be a nurse on campus to support students who need access to the nurse for their medication or other health needs.
Yes. The Hill after-school staff will provide after-school care at Padrón and will operate at their regular hours. Please fill out this form if your child will be attending the after-school program.
