Modernized Murchison Middle School Holds Virtual Grand Opening

The Matadors have officially been welcomed home as Murchison Middle School held its virtual grand opening for their newly modernized campus on Wednesday, March 31.

The new building is one of nine AISD schools that have been modernized by the 2017 Bond Program, including projects such as Menchaca Elementary, Norman-Sims Elementary, Rosedale School and more.

Superintendent Stephane S. Elizalde said modernized schools like Murchison are the mission that every student deserves.

LBJ Early College High School Invites Community to Join a ‘Walk for our Students’ on April 3

LBJ Early College High School, 7309 Lazy Creek Drive invites the community to participate and attend a community event on Saturday, April 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

School staff and volunteers will be walking around the LBJ ECHS neighborhood and connecting with families and neighbors informing them about the programs and services offered at the high school.

Updated Quarantine Guidelines Following Exposure / Normas actualizadas para la cuarentena después de haber estado expuestos

The CDC has updated their guidance as of Wednesday, March 24, 2021, eliminating the 90-day window in their quarantine guidelines for those who are fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine. Staff or students do not need to quarantine after a direct exposure if they have been fully vaccinated and more than two weeks have passed since they received the full vaccine (two shots of Moderna or Pfizer, or one shot of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine). Notice of Identity Monitoring Letter / Aviso sobre carta acerca del monitoreo de la identidad

Austin ISD has recently been made aware of a letter sent to families regarding a potential data breach through a previous third-party vendor.

The letter from PCS Revenue Control Systems, Inc., states that the name of the noted student, their identification number, and date of birth were potentially exposed to unauthorized access during a data breach in December 2019.

AISD to Hold Outdoor, Socially Distanced Graduation Ceremonies / El AISD celebrará ceremonias de graduación al aire libre con distanciamiento social

Austin ISD recognizes graduation as one of the most monumental achievements in a student’s life. That is why we are committed to celebrating the Class of 2021 in the safest possible way.

In-person high school graduation ceremonies will be May 28–June 3 at one of our three AISD outdoor stadiums—Burger Stadium, House Park or Nelson Field. Rosedale School will be the exception, as students will be celebrated during a ceremony on campus May 28.
