Beginning the week of Oct. 5, Austin ISD will transition from daily to weekly curbside meal service. This change is in response to community feedback, providing a more efficient and convenient meal pick-up option for families.
Through Dec. 18, meals from curbside meal sites are free for any child under 19, or those over the age of 19 who are utilizing special education resources or currently enrolled in school to complete the requirements for a high school diploma. Austin ISD will serve free breakfast and lunch in the classroom for on-campus learners.

We are eager to welcome students back to campus beginning with a phased-in approach starting on October 5. While some practices will look different this year, our commitment to delivering high-quality programming in a fun and nurturing environment remains the same. The Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved an update to the 2020-21 school year calendar, changing the Oct. 12 student holiday to Election Day, Nov. 3.
To accommodate a student holiday for Election Day, the district moved the professional development day, previously scheduled for Monday, Oct. 12, to Nov. 3, federally recognized Election Day.

Austin ISD Wi-Fi-enabled buses will be undergoing a change in service times to provide internet access to our students.
Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, Wi-Fi buses will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is to accommodate time for transporting students as we begin to phase-in on-campus learning. Wi-Fi buses are available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Oct. 2.
