Dressed to Include: Austin ISD Adopts New Dress Code

The Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved and adopted a revised student dress code June 17, the first revision since May 2007. 

The change was made after the district reviewed best-practice dress code policies from throughout the U.S.

Director of Health Services Tracy Spinner said, “The Board requested staff review and update the dress code policy because ultimately our goal is to have AISD policies contribute to safe and inclusive learning environments, including being able to dress in a manner that is comfortable so all students can focus on learning.”
