Out-of-District Transfers

Austin ISD welcomes students from outside its boundaries to any program with available space, which is a majority of campuses. For the 2017–18 school year, out-of-district transfer requests will be accepted beginning Feb. 1, 2017. Out-of-district transfers are not allowed for the district's magnet or special programs, nor will transfer requests be granted to frozen schools.

Students wishing to attend a magnet program at Fulmore, Kealing or LASA or an application program such as Anderson High School's International Baccalaureate program or the Academies at Austin High School; LBJ, Reagan or Travis Early College High School; Covington, Lamar or McCallum Fine Arts; Small Green Tech; Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders; or a dual-language program must apply directly to those programs and must provide proof of residence. Principals of these programs may request proof of residence at any time.
