Technology plays an essential role in the day-to-day operations of our school district. Technology integration is a vital component in both our classrooms and administrative offices. With over 12,000 employees and close to 85,000 students in the district, the Austin ISD Technology Department strives to provide a safe, efficient, and productive learning and work environment for all.

In 2013, a Technology bond was pased allotting $81 million to update district classroom technology and infastructure. Part of that money was used this past summer to provide new laptops for teachers. In addition, network upgrades have been performed and a new ERP system, BOLT (Business Operations for Learning and Teaching), will be implemented during the 2016-17 school year. The new system will greatly increase the ease of workflow between different AISD departments such as Human Resources and Finances.

The remaining Bond monies is spent on a comprehensive plan to integrate meaningful technology in the daily instruction of AISD classrooms. This is part of AISD's Strategic Plan to Reinvent the Urban School Experience. Read more >>
