Salute 2020 Nominations are now open!

Salute is AISD’s annual celebration to recognize some of the district’s outstanding team members for their continued dedication to student excellence and achievement in our schools. 

District staff, families, and the community are invited to submit a nomination for a staff member they believe represents the very best of AISD.

Nominations will close Tuesday, February 4th at 5pm.

  • Librarian of the Year
  • Counselor of the Year
  • Assistant Principal of the Year (Includes Academy Directors & Academic Deans)
  • Principal of the Year
  • Classified Staff of the Year (Classified staff are defined as hourly employees who work for campuses or throughout our district. Examples include, but are not limited to: campus office staff, teaching assistants, custodians, bus drivers, food service specialists, police officers, service center employees, and central administration classified staff.)

This year's Salute Awards ceremony, in partnership with Austin Partners in Education, will recognize the winners in five categories, along with APIE Hall of Fame award winners. In addition, Teachers of Promise and Teachers of the Year will be honored.

The 2020 Salute Awards will be held Thursday, May 14th at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center, and will be shown on AISD.TV.

¡Las nominaciones de Salute ya están abiertas!

Salute es la celebración anual de AISD para reconocer a miembros sobresalientes del equipo del distrito por su continua dedicación a la excelencia y el rendimiento estudiantil en nuestras escuelas.

El personal del distrito, las familias y la comunidad están invitados a presentar una nominación por un miembro del personal que creen que representa lo mejor de AISD.

  • Personal clasificado/a del año ( El personal clasificado se define como empleados por hora que trabajan para escuelas o en todo nuestro distrito. Ejemplos de miembros de personal clasificado incluyen, pero no se limitan a: personal de la oficina de las escuelas, asistentes de enseñanza, conserjes, conductores de autobuses, especialistas en servicios de alimentos, oficiales de policía, empleados del centro de servicios y personal clasificado de la administración central).

La ceremonia de Salute de este año, en asociación con Austin Partners in Education, reconocerá a los ganadores en cinco categorías, junto con los ganadores de los premios APIE Hall of Fame. Además, se honrará a los Maestros de Promesa y a los Maestros del Año.

Los premios se llevarán a cabo el jueves 14 de mayo en el Centro de Artes Escénicas de Austin ISD y se mostrarán en AISD.TV.

Classified Staff of the Year

This award recognizes an outstanding AISD classified employee. Classified employees are defined as hourly employees and include, but are not limited to, teacher assistants, office staff and custodians. The Classified Staff of the Year recognizes an AISD staff member who has gone beyond his/her regularly assigned job duties to promote the development and/or progress of the district’s mission, and should demonstrate a positive effect on the AISD campus/community.

Librarian of the Year

This award recognizes an outstanding AISD campus librarian. The Librarian of the Year should demonstrate collaborative relationships with students, families and staff and create a learning environment that contributes to student success.

Counselor of the Year

The award recognizes an outstanding AISD campus counselor. The Counselor of the Year should demonstrate collaborative relationships with students, parents and staff that contribute to student success and a positive campus climate.

Assistant Principal of the Year

This award recognizes an outstanding AISD campus assistant principal. The nominee must have the job title of “assistant principal”. Nominees for Assistant Principal of the Year should exhibit leadership qualities centered around the support and maintenance of collaborative relationships with students, parents and staff that positively affect student achievement and campus climate.

Principal of the Year

This award recognizes an outstanding AISD campus principal. The Principal of the Year should demonstrate attributes that foster an exemplary campus environment by promoting positive community engagement, high student achievement, healthy campus climate, and an effective leadership style.
