Austin ISD is proud to offer a compensation package that is responsive to employees’ ambition and accomplishments. The base compensation includes salary, medical and dental insurance, a retirement package through the Teacher Retirement System and free, customized professional development for campus staff.
Professional Pathways for Teachers [link] gives teachers the opportunity to add permanent increases to their base salary. PPfT blends appraisal, compensation, leadership pathways and professional development. It allows teachers to choose a pathway that best suits their needs and aspirations and rewards them for efficacy in the classroom.
In addition to compensation, AISD offers a number of other incentives. Employees can send their children to any AISD campus they choose (some of which have on-site daycare facilities) and receive a discounted tuition rate for AISD Pre-K. Campus staff are issued technology devices for use in the classroom and to take home. And all employees can take advantage of the employee discount housing program, with special rates negotiated by AISD.
