Join the Austin ISD Team as a Substitute
Austin ISD is now accepting substitute applications for the 2018–19 school year. Inspire, encourage and support AISD students by becoming a substitute teacher. You will enjoy a flexible work schedule, competitive pay starting at $70-85 per day and up to $120-$130 per day and the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects.
Getting started is easy. After you apply online, you will need to pass a fingerprint background check (fingerprint fee is the responsibility of the applicant), attend orientation, complete new-hire documentation and provide original transcripts, driver’s license and your social security card.
Rates of Pay
Teacher Base Rate
60+ College Hours: $75/day
Degreed (bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate): $80/day
Texas Certified Teacher: $85/day
Teacher Incremental Pay
31–60 days of service: add $20/day to the base rate listed above
61+ days of service: add an additional $20/day in addition to the 31+ day incremental pay
Teacher Long-term Pay
Teacher substitutes will receive an additional $20/day for completing 20 consecutive days or more in the same assignment for the same teacher.
All substitutes will receive an additional $5/day for working on Fridays.
Classified Base Rate
High School Diploma or GED: $70/day
Classified Incremental Pay
31-60 days of service: add $10/day to the base rate listed above
61+ days of service: add an additional $10/day to the base rate listed above
Aesop Substitute Management System
Visit the Aesop website and log in as follows:
- Subs and employees: enter "00" followed by six-digit employee ID. (i.e.123456)
- Administrators and campus sub coordinators: enter "e" followed by six-digit employee ID (i.e. E123456)
- Your PIN will be generated by Aesop, which you can change after initial login
