News from Dr. Cruz: We're all in this together

This week, our board of trustees recognized the achievements of more than 100 students and staff in 14 categories, including wrestling, forensics, chess and Latin. As I congratulated these students and their parents, I thought about how we are all in this together: each of us plays a critical role in supporting customer service and strengthening relationships with our parents and community.

Customer service is one of the most critical roles administrative professionals play in our district. They do everything from managing the front office, coordinating multiple schedules, planning events and maintaining student data, advocating for parents, and even serving as safety-check monitors.

They help ensure the smooth operation of our schools and promote the well-being of our students.

April 19-25 is Administrative Professionals Appreciation Week, a time for the district to honor and recognize the important contributions of AISD's assistants, secretaries, registrars and clerical support staff.

We are so fortunate to have these dedicated professionals. I hope you’ll show your appreciation this week for all they do.
