News from Dr. Cruz: School Board Recognition Month

Team AISD,

With the new year comes a great reason to celebrate: School Board Recognition Month. The theme is all-star team, and our trustees are definitely deserving of that title!

Austin ISD trustees are elected officials who volunteer their time, and they support our district in lots of ways. Among many contributions, trustees chart the direction of educational programs and services, establish measures of success and ensure AISD's financial viability.

This work keeps our board busy—and on the move. On any given day, trustees can be found collaborating with local leaders, representing our district at state and national meetings or hosting community conversations. In everything they do, our trustees give selflessly of their time, talent and energy.

Want to show your appreciation? Take a moment to say thanks:

  • Give a shoutout on social media.
  • Make banner to hang in the board auditorium, and mail or deliver it to CAC, attn: superintendent's office.
  • Attend the celebratory board meeting, held at CAC, on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m.

It is with the guidance of our trustees that AISD is accomplishing great things and our students have bright futures ahead.

Thanks to our all-star team!

Sincerely,
Paul Cruz, Ph.D.
Superintendent
