April marks two significant and exciting events for our students in AISD.
Earlier this month, we kicked off our annual Pre-K Registration Day for 3- and 4-year-olds.
High-quality pre-kindergarten programs benefit our children, our schools and our greater communities. There is strong evidence that young children who participate in high-quality Pre-K programs start school more ready to learn than their peers.
You see this preparation and hard work on a daily basis when our students progress through your classrooms. The benefits extend beyond those initial years.
Earning a college degree also yields big dividends. This Friday, April 28, AISD students were among the 1,000 high school seniors celebrating the value of a college education on Central Texas College Signing Day.
Modeled after the NCAA’s National Signing Day for college athletes, Central Texas College Signing Day brings together college-bound seniors from school districts in our region. It reinforces the idea that excellence in the classroom should generate the same level of excitement for all students going to college.
Because of your dedication to our students, we are building a strong pathway that enables them to enjoy success from Pre-K through college. And that’s something to be excited about!
