As the district finalizes our budget for next school year, we’re trying out different approaches to make it easier for you to be part of the conversation.
We are pursuing a multi-year budget balancing strategy that will gradually eliminate future structural budget deficits. To do so, we must be prudent with our existing resources while ensuring the best possible education for our students.
During the month of May, staff and community members will have the opportunity to provide feedback in person at five different community budget conversations. An online program will allow you to participate in the budget conversation on your computer or smart phone. At a Tele-town Hall on May 20, you can call in with your comments and feedback.

On June 1, I will present a revised budget based on community feedback. By then, we will have a better idea of how bills passed during the Texas legislative session will affect next year’s budget, and we can make changes accordingly.
The final budget that the board adopts in August should reflect our values as a community and our goals for the future. Please plan to be part of the conversation. We look forward to hearing from you!
