Update on Superintendent Search
On April 25, Vincent Torres, president of the AISD Board of Trustees, provided the following update:
Dear AISD Staff and Community:
This week, I wanted to update you about the request for proposals that the AISD Board of Trustees approved April 15.
Most often referred to as an RFP, the request for proposals allows the district to seek applications from outside firms to assist us with the search for a permanent superintendent.
Each company interested in submitting a proposal needs to provide details about their process, approach and timeline for identifying the best candidate for the superintendent position.
Companies have until 2 p.m. May 7 to submit proposals to the board. Trustees will then begin to review the applicants and may invite several of them to meet with the board for presentations and to answer questions before trustees make a final decision. The final vote on the search firm is tentatively scheduled for May 28.
If you have thoughts and opinions on what the trustees should look for as we consider which search firm to work with, please send us your input via our website. Click here to send us your feedback.
The district is committed to an inclusive and transparent process as we search for a permanent leader for AISD. We welcome your input and feedback and there will be more opportunities to do so in the future. As always, you can check our superintendent search website for the most up-to-date information.
