While Norman is being modernized, students are co-locating at Sims Elementary for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years, forming the combined Norman & Sims Elementary Schools — the campus where Stars Shine and Tigers Roar Together! Made possible by the 2017 Bond.

Mary Jane Sims Early College Prep was named after long time educator Mary Jane Sims. The school’s mission is to educate and create well-rounded, productive citizens. The educators who lead the school today embody the passion and commitment of the school’s namesake. Students and staff proudly proclaim to be Sims Superstars, and the Sims choir has long been renowned for outstanding performances throughout the city. The school opened in 1956 and serves Pre-k through 5th grade students.  The educational program is aligned with the Early College High School initiative that supports preparation for college level courses beginning in 9th grade.
