Ahead of the Curve
Career Launch is for students in grades 9–14 who want to get a head start in a career where skilled employees are in high demand. It is a six-year, career-focused program providing students with real-world work experience through internships in fields connected to their classroom studies.
Students who successfully complete the six-year program will graduate with:
- A high school diploma
- An associate degree
- A Career and Technical Education endorsement
- Relevant industry certifications
- Practical workplace experience
Career Launch High Schools
Anderson High School Career Launch: Careers in Engineering Technology
The Anderson High School Career Launch program will open for the 2019–20 school year with a focus on engineering technology. Students who complete the program will fulfill the requirements to apply for the Texas A&M University College of Engineering Academy at ACC, supported by Chevron.
Crockett ECHS Career Launch: Careers in Construction Technology
The Crockett ECHS program is made possible through a grant from the Texas Education Agency. Students can earn an associate degree in construction management from Austin Community College as part of the program.
LBJ ECHS Career Launch: Careers in Health Sciences
The LBJ ECHS program is made possible through a partnership with Austin Community College and Seton Healthcare to offer Careers in Health Sciences.
Northeast ECHS Career Launch: Careers in Technology
The Northeast ECHS program is made possible through a partnership with Austin Community College and Dell to offer Careers in Technology.
