Austin Public Schools Ranked Third Best in the Nation

A recent report, “10 Best Cities To Use Public Schools,” has ranked Austin public schools as the third best in the U.S., with LASA listed as the best magnet high school in the Austin area.

The report's rankings are based on data from several key areas, noting, "All aspects of Austin’s schools are above the national average."

That data included: 

  • SAT and ACT scores
  • Graduation rate
  • Student-to-teacher ratio
  • Per-pupil spending
  • Crimes per square mile

Earning the top place were public schools in Alexandria, Va., with those in Scottsdale, Ariz., being ranked second.
