Transformative technology is in full swing at Austin ISD. By early spring, every school in the district will have received a shipment of mobile devices for students. That includes everything from Chrome Books to iPads to Windows tablets, which were funded through the 2013 bond.
The effort is all in the name of student success. The devices make it easier for collaboration on group projects and are a great tool for online tutorials.
They also contribute to more engaged learning. Students can use an iPad or Chrome Book to create an artifact that's related to the subject they're studying, so technology isn't just being substituted for a different type of learning. It's helping students learn in a completely new way.
Thanks to the multiple AISD departments and campuses that have collaborated on this project. You are contributing to excellence and innovation, and you make me #AISDproud.
