At its special meeting Aug. 25, the Austin ISD Board of Trustees established a timeline and process for filling the District 7 vacancy.
That process includes three opportunities for candidates to respond to questions by residents of District 7.
The community is invited to attend any of the open forums:
- 7–8 p.m. Sept. 15 at Bowie High School, 4103 Slaughter Lane
- Noon–1 p.m. Sept. 17 at Covington Middle School, 3700 Convict Hill Road
- 11 a.m.–noon Sept. 19 at Baranoff Elementary School, 12009 Buckingham Gate Road
Forums will be moderated by a representative from the Austin-area League of Women Voters.
District 7 residents may also submit questions online. The deadline to submit questions is noon Sept. 14.
Trustees will interview candidates during the week of Sept. 21, and a decision to fill the vacancy will occur Sept. 28.
