News from Dr. Cruz: Congratulations to our Graduates!

Team AISD,

This week, I'll congratulate nearly 4,700 seniors graduating from AISD.

These students make me so proud. Some of them have already earned an associate degree, some are ready to begin a technical career and others are headed to universities like MIT and Yale.

Over the years, these students have benefited from the hard work and dedication of many teachers, counselors, administrators and other staff.

As high school graduates, they are now prepared to make tough decisions, earn more money over the course of their lifetime and be more informed members of their communities.

At no cost, they have received a great education, and the door to opportunity has been opened for them. We believe in public school education.

I’m proud to be superintendent of our outstanding public school district, where more than 12,000 employees in 129 facilities throughout the city work so hard every day to educate 85,000 students.

Thank you for all you have done this school year to help every student move closer to the goal of graduation. I hope you have a safe and restful summer!

Paul Cruz, Ph.D.
