'The Archer Hadley Story' to be Screened at 2015 White House Film Festival

The 2015 White House Student Film Festival will include  'The Archer Hadley Story,' produced by Austin High School's media arts team. The documentary will be screened for White House administrators, educators and student filmmakers March 20–21.

Last year, the White House launched the festival with 16 films selected from 3,000 entries.

'The Archer Hadley Story' documents the efforts of a disabled student to get accessible doors installed at Austin High School.

Hadley, who has cerebral palsy, raised money by making a series of “wheelchair challenges” to his fellow students. He raised $87,000—more than double his original goal—which allowed the school to install five automatic doors and rain-resistant canopies, and to equipment warranties.

The PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs Program is funding a trip to Washington, D.C., for Hadley and his fellow student filmmakers.
