15 Austin ISD Students Selected for Presidential Scholars Program

The U.S. Department of Education has selected 15 Austin ISD students as candidates for the United States Presidential Scholars Program.

Students from Anderson, Bowie, LASA and McCallum High Schools were selected.

"It is quite an honor for Anderson to have students selected for the program. Our candidates are outstanding academic and extracurricular scholars. They’re proved themselves in the classroom and as public servants. They’re all-around great role models for their peers," said Anderson High School Principal Donna Houser.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to recognize and honor distinguished graduating seniors. Scholars are chosen based on academic and artistic success, leadership and involvement in school and community.
