Department of Communications and Community Engagement Wins Six National Awards from the National School Public Relations Association

The National School Public Relations Association awarded the Austin Independent School District’s Department of Communications and Community Engagement six awards on July 10 at its 2013 national conference in San Diego, California.

Alex Sánchez, executive director of the department, accepted the following awards on behalf of the district: the 2013 Golden Achievement Award for Educa and Maestro en Casa; the 2013 Excellent Award in the Electronic Marketing Materials Category for its Bond Video; the 2013 Merit Award in the Annual Report Category for its 2012 Annual Report; the 2013 Merit Award in the Blogs Category for its Superintendent’s Blog; the 2013 Merit Award in the Finance Publication Category for its 2014 Preliminary Budget Report; and the 2013 Honorable Mention in the Videocasting/Videostreaming Category for its “Call Me Maybe” video.
