Who is the Fittest Employee in AISD? District, XFIT2YOU Team Up for AISD Games June 1

Austin ISD employees will put it all on the line during a first district-wide fitness challenge June 1, which will test participants mentally and physically while promoting healthy living.

The district is teaming up with local wellness vendor XFIT2YOU to host the AISD Games, a voluntary fitness challenge designed to find the fittest person in AISD.

What: AISD employees competing in the AISD Games fitness challenge.

When: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, June 1

Where: Toney Burger Activity Center, 3200 Jones Rd.

The fitness challenge is only open to AISD employees, but members of the public are invited to attend and cheer team members on as they compete in five fitness challenges. The event also will feature activities for children as well as wellness and food vendors.

“Health and wellness are huge priorities for AISD. We wanted to create a fun way for our employees and the community to practice and celebrate fitness, so we are proud to partner with XFIT2YOU to host the first AISD Games,” said Tracy Lunoff, administrative supervisor, for AISD’s Department of Comprehensive Health Services. “Fitness is a lifestyle, and our employees have been training for months for this event. We hope their participation in AISD Games will inspire a lifelong love for health and wellness.”

The event, which is geared for any fitness and age level, will provide a fun way for employees to challenge themselves and their peers physically and mentally. All registrants will be entered into a raffle to win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three men and women finishers.

“It has been an honor working in partnership with AISD, a school district dedicated to the health and well-being of their employees. As a mobile fitness facility, XFit2You has increased accessibility to structured physical activity for AISD employees and teachers,” Rachael Brown, owner and founder of XFit2You, said. “Our goal is to provide employees and teachers with an opportunity to maintain mental and physical stability needed to lead happier, healthy and productive lives. The AISD Games will give all district employees an opportunity to demonstrate their skills during a healthy competition while having fun.”
