Austin ISD will never need to use its bad weather makeup days due to two days of additional instructional minutes included in the calendar.
The Texas Education Agency requires districts to make up the first two days of school following bad weather closures while any additional days do not need to be recovered. Because two additional days of instructional minutes are included beyond the 75,600 minutes per year required by the state of Texas, AISD bad weather days will not be needed.
