Meet Team AISD

I cherish the scholars that come through our doors each and every day, willing and ready to learn and work.

Sheila L. Henry

Position:
Principal
Department/School:
Lyndon B. Johnson Early College High School

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT AISD:

What I like most about AISD is the support system that is in place for principals. The High School office has been amazing in their roles and in providing resources to the school. I am always able to talk to personnel and resolve any and all issues that we have had to face. The High School office is very resourceful and has made sure their Solutions Team is purposeful in their work with the school. This has truly been an awesome experience—as a newcomer to the state and district.

THE MOST REWARDING THING ABOUT MY JOB:

I cherish the scholars that come through our doors each and every day, willing and ready to learn and work. Its wonderful to see the smiles on their faces and the comfort level that they feel when they are safe and surrounded by a positive environment. Making those connections to our families and the community is certainly rewarding when they are willing to come backand give back to the school that they love and appreciate so dearly.

WHAT I’D SAY TO A POTENTIAL CANDIDATE:

This is the best decision that I could have made when I decided to relocate to Texas. The leadership in our district is human. They do get involved at the campus level and are very willing to interact with personnel.

WORDS I LIVE BY:

Be the best person that you can be. You never know who is looking.
