Modernization Strategy for Facility Master Plan (FMP) Update

At its July and August 2016 meetings, the Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee (FABPAC) developed a draft modernization strategy for incorporation into the Facility Master Plan update. To do this, they used feedback developed from:

  • Current and emerging national trends
  • Strategic Asset Valuation (SAV) sessions with district leadership
  • Educational visioning sessions with district administration/leadership and vertical teams
  • Interviews with department heads conducted through the Facility Condition and Educational Suitability Assessment processes
  • Feedback from Community Engagement Series no.1

Additionally, as part of this process, a survey was administered to the AISD educators to gain feedback on which modernization concepts that felt were most important for district schools. Listed below, is the original FABPAC recommendation; the top three results from the survey; and a revised strategy that incorporates the values of both the FABPAC and AISD’s educators.
