Family Engagement Support Office
The Austin Independent School District recognizes that effective school-family-community engagement and partnerships are critical to student learning and success in school.
The AISD Family Engagement Support Office (FESO) is a collective team that is focused on providing education and support to schools and families. Our work involves collaborating with families, students, AISD staff and community partners to provide assistance with family engagement outreach efforts, accessing resources, and offering learning opportunities to AISD families. We strive to strengthen the essential connection between home, school, and the community with the purpose of helping all students attain their full academic potential.
Parent Support Specialists
FESO works closely with 76 Parent Support Specialists (PSS) who are based at 73 schools. This includes providing professional development, guidance and support to equip them with the tools and strategies for the implementation of successful family engagement programming at their campus. PSSs are primarily servicing Title I schools, which are schools with student populations from low-income families. Learn more about Parent Support Specialists.
