LBJ Early College High School Pre-Health Career Launch is hosting Stop The Bleed, a national campaign started by the White House to address the most common cause of preventable trauma death in the United States: uncontrolled bleeding.
Twenty percent of people who have died from traumatic injuries could have survived with quick bleeding control.
The purpose of the campaign is to better prepare the public to save lives by raising awareness of basic actions to stop life threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies and man-made and natural disasters.
Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas and the American Association for Surgical Education are sponsoring this event and are providing a presentation and training to LBJ ECHS students.
LBJ ECHS students have the opportunity to earn a certificate after completion.
