The Department of Educator Effectiveness
The Department of Educator Effectiveness provides professional development and support for all appraisal systems in Austin ISD, as well as implementing the Professional Pathways for Teachers. We aim to positively impact and support the recruitment, development and retention of effective teachers and administrators throughout AISD.
Professional Pathways for Teachers (PPfT)
Professional Pathways for Teachers (PPfT) is a collaboration between Austin Independent School District, Education Austin, and American Federation of Teachers to design a Human Capital System that blends appraisal, compensation and professional development. This work focuses resources on building the capacity of our teachers through a comprehensive system of supports and rewards with the ultimate goal of impacting student achievement.
Campus Administrator Performance Review (CAPR)
In addition to PPfT, Educator Effectiveness supports the Campus Administrator Performance Review (CAPR), which promotes professional growth for all administrators, encourages more frequent conferences, and incorporates multiple indicators of success.
Other Staff Appraisals
The department also provides the supports for the Counselor, Classified, and Non-Teaching Professional Appraisals.
