To understand the most common reasons that students leave the Austin Independent School District (AISD), and identify where students go after they leave, AISD conducted a survey of the parent or guardian of each student who was withdrawn from AISD. The survey was automated in 2016-2017 and is ongoing. Results are posted here. To understand the most common reasons that students leave the Austin Independent School District (AISD), and identify where students go after they leave, the Department of Research and Evaluation conducted a survey in English and Spanish. For the purpose of the survey, leavers were defined as students who attended AISD during the 2014-2015 school year, but who were not enrolled at AISD in October of 2015.
In November 2011, ACCESS staff distributed a questionnaire about early childhood education services participation to all Austin Independent School District’s parents/guardians of kindergarten and prekindergarten students through their classroom teacher. This report was funded through the ACCESS grant as an adhoc request and provides a district summary of the data.
