High Dosage Tutoring Program Summary 2014-2015

In the 2014–2015 school year, Eastside Memorial High School implemented a High-Dosage Tutoring (HDT) Program that served approximately 156 Algebra I students. This report summarizes student outcomes, tutor, teacher, and student perceptions, and program logistics.

Schoolnet Implementation Summary, 2011–2012

Schoolnet is an instructional tool designed to help district staff at all levels to improve student achievement. In 2011-2012, the evaluation focused on system implementation.

CARES Front Office Staff Focus Group: Summary of Results 2019-2020

The CARES (customer-focused, action-oriented, responsive, empathetic, and service-driven) initiative was launched in AISD in 2018-2019 to bring about a culture of respect and inclusiveness throughout the district. The initiative puts an emphasis on positive customer experiences for families, students and staff members. In the spring of 2020, the Department of Research and Evaluation conducted focus groups with front office staff members from a variety of schools in AISD to discover the perceptions and responses to this initiative and any barriers to full implementation.

State Compensatory Education: 2014-2015

State Compensatory Education (SCE) is a supplemental program designed to eliminate disparities in (a) student performance on assessment instruments administered under chapter 39 of the Texas Education Code (1995, amended 2013), and (b) the rates of high school completion between students who are at risk of dropping out of school, as defined by Texas Education Code 29.081 (1995, amended 2013), and all other students. SCE funds must be used for programs or services that are supplemental to the regular education program and aim to increase the performance of students identified as at risk of drop

Summary of Austin Independent School District Telecommuting Surveys

Telecommuting is currently used in many industries and is celebrated for fostering job satisfaction and increased productivity. However, telecommuting is not widely practiced in K-12 environments. Two departments in AISD implemented pilot telecommuting programs. This report presents survey results from these pilot implementation models and summarizes the lessons learned to better understand the challenges and best practices of implementation.

Standard Aggregate Reports

Standard Aggregate Reports (SAR) allow community-based service providers to access aggregate data (i.e., summary data for multiple individuals) about students participating in their programs. Using this system, service providers gain access to valuable information about the discipline, attendance, and academic achievement outcomes of the students they serve. At the same time, AISD can maintain compliance with federal and local regulations protecting the confidentially of individual-level student data while being responsive to agency data needs.

Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) Austin: Annual Evaluation Report 2018–2019

In 2018–2019, the program’s second federally funded year, GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) Austin served a cohort of 7th-grade students (n = 2,536) across 11 middle schools. Nearly all GEAR UP students received support services relevant to college preparation. Evaluation findings suggest that students, teachers, and parents had a positive perspective on the role of the program services in college preparation.

Plan of Work: 2007-2008

Each year, staff develop the evaluation plan document to describe the scope of work for the coming year which details programs to be evaluated and evaluation support and services to be provided. Evaluation plans are developed through an interactive process involving evaluation and program staff and the executive director of Accountability. This plan of work is for the 2007-2008 school year.
