This report evaluates students’ achievement in the AISD pre-K program during the 2013–2014 school year, based on Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-IV (PPVT) and Test de Vocabularío en Imagenes Peabody (TVIP) results.
This report describes the AISD at-risk student population and expenditures for 2012-2013, results from program evaluations conducted in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013, and the longitudinal disparity between performance of at-risk and not-at-risk students.
This brief report summarizes prekindergarten (pre-K) students’ achievement on the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-IV (PPVT) and Test de Vocabularío en Imagenes Peabody (TVIP) in Fall 2014. The PPVT and the TVIP measure knowledge of receptive (i.e., hearing) vocabulary in English and Spanish.
The disparity in passing rates of at-risk and not at-risk students decreased for nearly half of STAAR subjects and grades, but increased in nearly as many cases. However, the gap narrowed to the smallest measured in six years of graduation rates.
On average, AISD pre-K students scored below the national average range on a test for receptive vocabulary ability. English language learners (ELLs) scored lower, on average, than did non-ELLs. Read more about pre-K students' Fall 2012 performance by vertical team.
This report summarizes the 2009-2010 results of 25 AISD's special education grant projects. Goals were to reduce the student achievement gap and disproportionality, improving teacher quality and district processes, and evaluating projects.
This annual report summarizes Austin ISD's English language learner students and the bilingual education programs that served them during the 2014-2015 school year. The report includes summaries of data on student demographics, language acquisition, and academic performance.
This report describes English language learners who were more likely to exit the language program within 5 years of 1st-grade enrollment. A summary of student academic performance associated with successful exit and long-term ELL status is provided.
This report summarizes results from Spring 2014 focus groups held with a sample of AISD dual language program classroom teachers to find out their opinions about the dual language program.
This report provides a description of ELL enrollment in the district, examines ELL progress in English proficiency and academic content areas, and evaluates the dual language program in its first year of district wide implementation.
