This report summarizes the 2009-2010 results of 25 AISD's special education grant projects. Goals were to reduce the student achievement gap and disproportionality, improving teacher quality and district processes, and evaluating projects.
During 2009–2010, 479 new teachers were mentored by 419 experienced teachers during more than 12,000 sessions. Planning was the most common type of mentoring activity. See the report for more details.
AISD provided summer programs in 2010 for students to accelerate academic learning, maintain academic skills between school years, recover course credits, retake state achievement tests, or experience school-level transition activities.

Summary of Title I Services for Private Schools and Facilities for Neglected or Delinquent Students, 2009–2010
This report summarizes federal Title I services provided to eligible students at participating private school programs and facilities for delinquent or neglected students within the AISD attendance area in 2009–2010.
This report describes 2009-2010 AISD parent involvement activities which are coordinated by the Parent Support Office, conducted by campus-based parent support specialists, and supported through the activities of special parent support staff.
A Spring 2010 survey of teachers and campus administrators showed that staff most often requested additional training in integrating technology into instruction, rigor in the curriculum, and differentiated instruction.
AISD supported parent training in the Love and Logic curriculum during 2009–2010, and survey results indicated that most parents reported improvements in their children’s behavior and their own behavior after completing training.
