Postsecondary Enrollment for 2012 Graduates: Austin Independent School District
Since 2003, Austin Independent School District’s (AISD) postsecondary enrollment has increased incrementally. Over the years, the percentages of students enrolling in 2-year institutions appear to account for the overall increase in postsecondary enrollment. After the upward tick in postsecondary enrollment for the Class of 2011, enrollment declined for the Class of 2012. AISD figures paralleled national trends, as overall college enrollment rates dropped from 68.3% for the Class of 2011 to 66.2% for the Class of 2012.

This report presents postsecondary enrollment for AISD’s Class of 2011 during the year after high school graduation. Since 2002, AISD postsecondary enrollment has increased incrementally, from 62% to 68%.

2012 Senior FAFSA Submission Summary
The FAFSA application can be completed by aspiring students to access federal financial aid for college enrollment. FAFSA completion rates for AISD seniors were the same in 2011 and 2012, and gaps in FAFSA completion remained among student groups.

Career and Technical Education: College Readiness and Cost-Effectiveness, 2011-2012
Compared to 2010–2011, the cost-effectiveness of the CTE program improved in 2011-2012. Also, CTE may be more successful than the regular curriculum at achieving the effect of college readiness among Hispanic and economically disadvantaged students.

ACT Test Results Summary, 2011- 2012
The ACT is a national college admissions examination developed and administered by ACT, Inc. AISD student particiaption has increased. This report summarizes the results.

Class of 2012 High School Exit Survey
The purpose of this survey is to monitor high school students’ perceptions of their high school experience. Results are used to improve the campus environment and program supports for students.
