2015 High School Exit Survey: Comparison of Responses of Career and Technical Education Concentrators with Those of Their Peers
Many survey responses of CTE and non-CTE seniors were very similar, including their plans to enroll in postsecondary education. Some differences in responses may be explained by differences in economic status.
The purpose of the High School Exit Survey was to monitor high school seniors’ perception of their high school experiences. Results are used to improve the campus environment and program supports for students. Survey results also are used in the monitoring of the district’s strategic plan Goal 3: All students will graduate ready for college, career, and life in a globally competitive economy.
Every year, the Austin Independent School District administers the Student Substance Use and Safety Survey to a random, representative sample of middle and high school students. The survey tracks student knowledge, attitudes, and behavior over time.
A thorough analysis of the survey results for 2013 through 2015 indicated two items consistently best reflected staff climate/working conditions at every school level each year: a) School leadership makes a sustained effort to address teacher concerns about school leadership, and b) Overall, my school is a good place to work and learn.
Since 2005, the AISD Central Office Work Environment Survey has been conducted to gather information about working conditions. The following report presents the survey results for Spring 2012 through Spring 2015 for AISD central office employees.

The student climate survey provides the opportunity to monitor students’ opinions regarding topics such as behavioral environment, adult fairness & respect, student academic self-confidence, teacher expectations, and student engagement.
