Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) Austin: 2021 Fall Student Focus Group Results Summary
This report describes findings generated from student focus groups across four GEAR UP campuses in the Fall 2021 semester. The focus group participants described their perspectives of the GEAR UP program, experiences with the GEAR UP activities, and plans for future education. Findings obtained from the 2021 fall student focus groups echoed those obtained from focus group interviews with students and teachers in the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 school years.

Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) Austin: Annual Evaluation Report 2020–2021
In 2020–2021, the program’s fourth federally funded year, GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) Austin served a cohort of 9th grade students in the class of 2024 (n = 2,650) across seven high schools. Nearly all GEAR UP students received support services relevant to college preparation. Evaluation findings suggest that students, teachers, and parents had a positive perspective on the role of the program services in college preparation.

Twilight Credit Recovery Program Annual Report 2020–2021
Overall, Twilight student outcomes were positive. The middle school students who participated in Twilight had a 60% success rate and high school students who participated in Twilight had a 77% success rate. In addition, 81% of the 12th graders who participated in Twilight graduated from high school. Lastly, students, teachers, and campus administrators had very positive thoughts about Twilight and indicated this program helped students recover grades and attendance so they could be promoted and stay on track to graduate.

Diversified Education Through Leadership, Technology, and Academics (DELTA) Credit Recovery Program Annual Report 2020–2021
DELTA student outcomes were positive. A total of 1,617 students attempted to recover 2,875 credits and 64% of credits were earned. In addition, 79% of the 12th graders in DELTA graduated from high school. Lastly, students, teachers, and campus administrators had very positive thoughts about DELTA and how this program helped students earn credits and stay on track to graduate.
Austin Partners in Education Summary Report: 2020–2021
In 2020–2021, APIE aimed to align programs and resources to help AISD students navigate the new educational landscape brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and school closures. While APIE’s goals continued to focus on supporting ECHS students in acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to enroll, persist, and succeed in postsecondary education, priorities were free to be adjusted based on the shifting needs of students and campuses. As planned, APIE supported academic and college readiness programs through multiple academic coaching services focused on taking college readiness exams.

AISD CTE Postsecondary Enrollment Trends
Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for college, career, and life, and increases access and equity to high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand industries. AISD CTE prepares graduates for postsecondary success. About 72% of Class of 2019 graduates who enrolled in postsecondary education were CTE course takers or concentrators. This executive summary reports on college enrollment for Class of 2019 graduates who participated in CTE during their senior year.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program Analysis Scorecard Report, 2019-2020
Career and Technical Education (CTE) at Austin Independent School District (AISD) aims to provide scholars with academic knowledge and technical skills needed to gain entry to high-demand, high-skill, and high-wage industries. This report summarizes results of the CTE Program Analysis Scorecard for the 2019–2020 school year. The CTE Program Analysis Scorecard results focus on three components of program outcomes: (a) program alignment, (b) quality of instruction, and (c) access and equity.
