U.S. News and World Report ranks seven AISD high schools among the best in the nation: Akins, Anderson, Austin, Bowie and McCallum high schools, as well as the Liberal Arts and Science Academy and the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders.
AISD manages public resources responsibly.
Despite dwindling state resources, AISD has earned the highest ratings for its management of a $1 billion budget from Moody’s Investors Service, Standard & Poor’s, and Fitch Ratings.
AISD also carries the highest bond and state financial accountability ratings that school districts can earn in the State of Texas. These ratings reflect the district's stable financial management and operations, healthy reserves and manageable debt profile. This saves Austin taxpayers money.
