Naming of New Early Childhood Center

The Board of Trustees continued the process of considering potential names for the district's new Early Childhood Center. The Board expects to take action on a name by the April 23 Regular Board Meeting.  

Continuation of Review of the FY2013 Preliminary Budget and Tax Rate

The Board of Trustees continued its review of the FY2013 Preliminary Budget and Tax Rate, including the possibility of pursuing a Tax Ratification Election to secure the additional revenue needed to support a proposed salary increase for district employees. The Board expects to provide the administration with specific guidance at its March 19 Dialogue Session on what compensation and tax rate assumptions should be included in the FY2013 Revised Budget.

Community Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) Report

Lawrence W. Fryer, Jr., Chief Operations Officer, Ashton Cumberbatch, CBOC Tri-Chair and Bobby Jenkins, CBOC Tri-Chair, reported on the activities of the committee. This semi-annual report is required under the charge of the CBOC, which oversees both the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs.

Capital Improvement and Bond Planning Advisory Committee (CIBPAC) Presentation of Recommendation

In a discussion led by Lawrence W. Fryer, Jr., Chief Operations Officer, Paul Turner, Executive Director of Facilities and Curt Shaw, Director of Construction Management, the Board of Trustees reviewed the findings and recommendations of the CIBPAC at its Jan. 24, Feb. 8 and Feb. 21 meetings. The CIBPAC is charged with evaluating all capital improvement needs of the district, and providing recommendations to the Superintendent.
