Crockett Designated a High School that Works

Crockett High School has been named a National High Schools That Work "Outstanding School for 2011." This competitive and highly prestigious award is a great accomplishment and a direct outcome from the campus leadership and hard-working staff.

The award is based on the following criteria:

Nomination by HSTW State Coordinator for noteworthy accomplishment and at least one of the following areas:

  1. Significant increase in graduation rate,
  2. Significant increase in percentage of students meeting college readiness standards as measured by the ACT, SAT or
  3. Significant increase in percentage of students passing state-approved employer certification exams, or significant improvement on state assessments, particularly in language arts/reading, and mathematics.

An awards ceremony will be held in Nashville, Tennessee next month.

High Schools That Work is the nation's largest school improvement initiative for high school leaders and teachers.
