Navarro Early College High School student Antonio Lopez-Ramirez spent the last four years integrating into the school community by exploring his interest in football, wrestling and robotics. While Antonio stopped pursuing sports in his junior year, his passion for robotics and computer science has grown stronger through the P-TECH program. 

The district will officially move forward with increasing the number of instructional days to the 2026-27 academic calendar, following a board vote Thursday. These changes are a strategic initiative designed to increase instructional time and bolster student achievement. 

This summer, Austin ISD is helping local families keep their kids healthy and energized by offering free summer meals at more than 30 schools. All children 18 and under, plus enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21, are eligible to receive nutritious breakfasts and lunches at no cost.
