Anderson High School's International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (512-414-7951) is a comprehensive course of study designed for highly motivated students. This stimulating, challenging program meets standards of international academic excellence and promotes admission to colleges and universities throughout the world. The IB Diploma recipient is recognized world wide as a leader of high academic standing. The ability to think, write, communicate, and assume responsibility within a community are viewed as key attributes of this individual. With this in mind, the International Baccalaureate Organization requires all students to complete these three components–Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, and CAS–as essential culminating actions for a diploma candidate.
Murchison Middle School's International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (512-414-3254) was developed to provide students with a sound preparation for further studies (such as the IB Diploma Program offered at Anderson High School) and to develop lifelong learning skills and attitudes. Mathematics, Science, Humanities (Social Studies), and Language A (English Language Arts) are already built into a students' schedule. The Language B (Languages other than English), Technology, Physical Education, and Arts requirements are fulfilled through careful course selection and our extensive course offerings. Intercultural Awareness and community service are also a large part of the MYP. Therefore, in order for a student to receive IB MYP certification at Murchison Middle School, the student is required to complete a minimum of 10 hours of community service.
