To achieve its mission, the School Leadership Academy is guided by and designs its work and programs to achieve the following objectives:

1. Develop and sustain superbly prepared individuals for school leadership.
2. Provide the opportunity for outstanding professional staff to expand the influence of their good work from current assignments to whole schools and beyond.
3. Present the opportunity for assistant principals to expand their knowledge and skill, and become viable candidates for the position of principal.
4. Help current principals expand their knowledge, perspectives, and skills in ways that sharpen their ability to lead their schools toward higher levels of achievement and greater distinction.
5. Offer leadership development programs that meet the standards of the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) and the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) of the Council of Chief State School Officers. In succinct form, these standards make explicit that the work of school leaders is learner-centered and that this work is accomplished when school leaders promote the success of all students and act with integrity, fairness, and in an ethnical manner.
