What does a parent need to get started?
You will need the letter titled 'Official Notification to Parents and Guardians regarding access to AISD ParentConnection'. This letter will be mailed to all parents and guardians of elementary students on September 25, 2009. It contains the personal identification number (PIN) for your student, along with instructions for creating a ParentConnection account.
In addition to the 'Official Notification' letter, what else is needed to be able to view student grade and attendance information?
You will need: A valid email address (free accounts are available at websites such as Gmail and Yahoo)
A computer with internet access
Your student's date of birth and AISD Student ID number (This number can be found on any report card or progress report.)
Do both parents have to use the same ParentConnection login?
No. Each parent can create a separate ParentConnection login and link to their student using the PIN and other required information as long as they each have their own email address.
What if we do not have access to a computer? Parents who do not have a home computer with Internet access may use free computers located in Austin public libraries. For information about public library branch locations, parents may call 974-7400.
