Mission Statement

Our mission at Pease is for all students to excel: • Personally • Emotionally • Academically • Socially
• Everyday!! Pease, a small school in a historic downtown building, serves a diverse population of approximately 250 students. It is an all-transfer school. At Pease we believe: • Diversity is a strength. • Intelligence is built through effort.
• A respectful environment is essential to learning. • Education is a collaborative effort. We celebrate the success of students as they strive to do their best in each endeavor they undertake. Teachers and parents work closely together with students to ensure achievement. Pease provides a curriculum that is aligned with AISD’s Instructional Planning Guides (IPGs). Students at all levels are formally assessed at the beginning, middle and end of the school year. All students are taught a rigorous, challenging curriculum. Pease follows the district’s Principles of Learning Initiatives from the Institute for Learning. Pease is a TRIBES school. Our students and staff follow the TRIBES Agreements of Mutual Respect, Attentive Listening, Appreciations/No Put Downs, and Right to Pass. The AISD Character Education Initiative is reinforced through our TRIBES lessons on campus. Students contribute to performance and work portfolios in the course of their classes. In the fall and spring semester, Parent/Teacher conferences are held. The teachers share present achievements and future learning goals with parents. Students are an important part of this process. Student Council opportunities are available to provide leadership experience for students in grades 4-6. The Bobcat Singers Choral Group consists of students in grades 5-6 and performs at different campus and community events. Students in all grade levels participate in a Winter Holiday Program each year. Orchestra and band opportunities are also available for sixth grade students. Pease also offers an after-school Child Care program that has been in existence for over 100 years. In the fall, the community celebrates Pease’s birthday with Halloween Hootenanny. The Pease community comes together for a Thanksgiving Luncheon and Book Fair. We celebrate spring through our annual May Fete event, a school wide dance program that culminates with the sixth graders dancing around the May Pole. Students participate in Invent Austin and Science Fair competitions. Students in grades 5 and 6 are recognized for their academic achievement by Honor Roll Assemblies each nine weeks.
