Mission Statement
The mission of Leona Doss Elementary School is to provide quality education and promote respect, responsibility, integrity, and student success.
I am very proud to be the principal of Doss Elementary School where every child is expected to complete a quality education. The moment a child walks through the doors at Doss, the school staff works diligently to identify academic, social, and affective needs of each student. Evidence of this is everywhere: from the cafeteria monitor who knows a child needs help with a milk carton to a teacher who knows a shy child lacks confidence...from a librarian who remembers a childĖs favorite author to a counselor who knows an overwrought child needs emotional support. Personal knowledge of the needs of our 626 children does not occur by happenstance. The school has a concerted mission to work as a team to meet the needs of each and every child.
The shared vision of staff, parents, and community results in a commitment to the well being of all our students. Data driven analysis, along with subjective input from parents, teachers, and community act as the springboard for this covenant.
Our mission and beliefs create a school climate that promotes learning in a safe environment. Doss maintains and develops awareness of the needs of groups or individuals based on formal and informal assessments.
