 Career and Technology Courses

  Webb is proud to offer the following classes and programs for students:

Keyboarding - (Required Class)Studentslearn the basics of Typing and must meet Word Per Minute requirement to receive passing grade.

Technology Education Students will be introduced to different sections of Technology including but not limited to:
· Power & Electricity - Learn about electricity, power, and Build a flashlight and a working circuit.
· Design – Design your own car or bridge
· Construction – wooden projects
· Transportation – Learn about the different types of transportation and even race the car you built
· Communication – Learn how radios and cell phone systems work
· Computer Hardware – Learn the parts of a computer and how each part works
· Computer Software – Introduction to Microsoft Paint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Career studies – Learn what jobs are available and what they pay if you work with technology
· Internet Research – Learn more about researching information on the internet including internet safety

Computer Applications To take this class, students must have completed one semester of Technology Education. In this Class you will learn more about technology as it relates to computers.
· The Students will determine their areas of study: Below is a list of some possible areas.
· Create your own music CDs
· IPODS and MP3’s
· Digital Cameras, how they work and related projects
· Basic html used for webpage design
· Making CAT-5 cables and networking computers
· Power Point presentations including internet research
· Computer Repair
· Wireless communications
· Building your own computer


Skills for living - Students learn the Skills they will need for life. Examples include cooking, maintaining a budget, career investigations and saving money.

Dell Tecknow - After school class, students learn how to work on computers including hardware and software. By the end of the class students will receive a free computer. Class is after school on Wednesday and Thursday for 2 hours for a total of 40 hours.
