                	<title>Metz Elementary Hosts Take a Veteran to School Day Friday</title>
                	<description>HISTORY™ and Time Warner Cable are partnering on the third annual Take a Veteran to School Day outreach initiative, which links veterans of all ages with young people in schools and communities across America.                 	<title>TEA Grants Appeal for Travis High School Accountability Rating</title>
                	<description>The Austin School District today received notification from Commissioner of Education Robert Scott that the appeal of the state accountability rating for Travis High School has been granted.  Thus, Travis High School moves from Academically Unacceptable to Academically Acceptable for 2009.  This means that 100 of Austin’s 114 campuses, or 88 percent, met or exceeded the challenges of the state’s increasing accountability standards for 2009.</description>

                	<title>Lasa Educator Honored With $25,000 Milken Award</title>
                	<description>Maricruz Aguayo-Tabor, a social studies teacher at Austin’s Liberal Arts and Science Academy High School, was surprised today to receive the news of her selection as one of the 2009 Milken National Educator Award recipients.  The Award, which comes with an unrestricted cash prize of $25,000, was presented during an assembly at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy on the LBJ High School Campus.  </description>
