The purpose of AISD UpClose is to cultivate a corps of parent and community leaders who are informed about the District's infrastructure, programs, and services, and understand the District's challenges and opportunities. Each month, AISD UpClose classes will meet at various district sites to have an "inside look" at key programs, services, and areas of the District. AISD UpClose graduates will be challenged to become leaders and advocates for the District, to volunteer for service on committees and task forces, to speak up when misinformation is circulating, and to encourage other parents and community members to get informed and involved.

The next class will begin in Jan. 2009 and end in December 2009.

Individuals who applied for the January 2009 AISD UpClose Class will be notified of their selection the week of Dec. 8, 2008
